He said what now?

For those of you who have lives, I apologize in advance for this post.

Michael Steele, the new RNC chairman, was on D.L. Hughley this weekend, saying, “I’m the de facto leader of the Republican Party.” And later, “Rush Limbaugh is an entertainer. Rush Limbaugh, the whole thing is entertainment.”

And then, like he was being paid by Rahm Emanuel, a day later he apologized to Limbaugh, saying of his statement to Hughley, “I was maybe a little bit inarticulate. There was no attempt on my part to diminish [Limbaugh's] voice or his leadership.”

No attempt to diminish his leadership by calling him an entertainer? I’m sorry, is that the smoke alarm, or are your PANTS ON FIRE?

Many of us aren’t quite stupid enough to not see the absurd lie in Steele’s apology. You can’t say “there was no attempt” to do what you JUST DID and expect intelligent people to believe you.

I think Michael Steele is just jealous that Limbaugh is the leader of the Republican party. I heard someone on talk radio yesterday copycatting Limbaugh; she said in some long rambling detail that she also hopes (and has been hoping) that Obama fails.

I was at someone’s house and it was on. I don’t know what station or what show, though. Does Anne Coulter do talk radio? But even from the snippet I heard, the lady didn’t sound evil enough to be Anne Coulter.

I think Ann Coulter does whoever — sorry, whatever show will let her spew, but in a guest capacity. I imagine the FCC fines for her language and/or potential defamation lawsuits keep her from getting a real show.

Which is all to say, no idea. I avoid her like the plague, except that I’d prefer the plague.
