What hell awaits?

Owing to my bad back and black eye (they really combine to form some suggestion of spousal abuse, but I swear, if one of us was going to abuse the other, it would be me on him), I’ve opted not to drive to school today. This means I am trusting my students to meet and work on their assignment without me. I’ve e-mailed them with instructions, so, theoretically, enough of them will have checked their e-mail in time to spread the word. (For all the BlackBerrys they have, it’s amazing how they’re rarely able to get my e-mails in time…. Huh.)

And so the excuses begin…now. On Thursday, I look forward to a litany of reasons why they didn’t do anything today. And then I get to lower the boom and make them work over Thanksgiving break.

There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
